Our Story

CedulaNetix was founded in 2009 with a simple but powerful mission: to preserve and share the rich cultural heritage of Mexico through immersive, authentic experiences. What began as a small workshop program in Mexico City has grown into a cultural institution offering diverse experiences throughout Mexico's most culturally significant regions.

Our founders, María Hernández and Carlos Fuentes, both accomplished dancers and cultural anthropologists, recognized that many travelers to Mexico were seeking deeper, more meaningful connections to Mexican traditions beyond typical tourist attractions. They envisioned creating experiences that would not only entertain but educate and inspire a genuine appreciation for Mexico's cultural wealth.

Today, CedulaNetix collaborates with over 50 cultural practitioners, dancers, musicians, and artisans across Mexico to create experiences that honor traditions while making them accessible to visitors from around the world. We take pride in our commitment to cultural authenticity, community support, and creating bridges of understanding through shared cultural experiences.

Our Mission

At CedulaNetix, our mission is threefold:

  • Preserve: We work directly with cultural tradition bearers to document, maintain, and promote traditional Mexican dance forms, music, and associated cultural practices.
  • Share: We create accessible, educational, and enjoyable experiences that allow visitors to engage meaningfully with Mexican cultural traditions.
  • Support: We ensure that our cultural programs economically benefit the communities whose traditions we share, providing sustainable income for cultural practitioners.

Our Approach

What sets CedulaNetix apart is our commitment to cultural integrity. Every experience we offer is:

  • Authentically Rooted: Developed in partnership with recognized cultural experts and tradition bearers
  • Educationally Rich: Providing context and understanding, not just surface-level entertainment
  • Participatory: Offering hands-on engagement rather than passive observation
  • Respectful: Honoring the cultural significance and proper contexts of traditions
  • Community-Connected: Directly benefiting the communities whose cultural heritage we share
